Silence, as I walk the streets shown bright,
As I see the people enthralled by the luster,
The neon brightness that sells a name,
Silence, as I experience the great façade they claim.
Silence, as I buy the aphrodisiac,
As I make my way through plush surroundings,
The mortal engaged in an arduous task,
Silence, as I feel the enlightenment of a tough existence.
Silence, as I move through the hoard,
As I buy my fare to my destination,
Seated with the unknown that lies ahead,
Silence, as I know that the journey of life is fraught with the same.
There is the crowd that chatters in the vicinity,
Uncaring in the midst enjoying though I may say,
The vendors criss-cross maneuvering the market place,
Silence, as I realise we sell what we are and buy what we want.
What about utterance? Some times utterance is badly needed to sell or to buy!
Good Poem. Keep it up 🙂
Utterances are a “taken for granted” phenomenon in a market place.
